Welcome to the RGS Sixth Form - a place where independence, aspiration and opportunity come together. Now firmly established as a co-educational Sixth Form, RGS provides a diverse, vibrant, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. From the outset, support surrounds you: dedicated teachers and vertically integrated forms that bring Year 12 and Year 13 together, allowing you to gain advice and guidance from those who have already been through it.
Cameron (Deputy School Captain)
Joining RGS in Year 12 was honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. At first, I didn’t want to leave my old school. I’d been there since Year 7, had a solid group of friends, and teachers I got on with so the idea of starting over somewhere new felt as if I was being uprooted. The Sixth Form at RGS stands out because of its welcoming atmosphere and inclusivity. From day one, new students are supported not only through the buddy system but also by the genuine effort of both staff and students to ensure everyone feels part of the community. It’s not just about academics, but about building confidence, developing new skills, and creating friendships that will last far beyond school. So, if you’re considering joining in Year 12, I would say don’t be afraid to take that step - you’ll soon feel at home, and you’ll gain so much from being part of the RGS community.
Phil (Deputy School Captain)
When I first joined boarding last year, I remember feeling daunted by the idea of living away from home and settling into a new environment. However, from the very first day, I was welcomed with warmth and kindness, and it quickly began to feel like home. Now, returning for my second year, it’s hard to believe I’ve only been here for just over a year, it feels like I’ve been part of this community for much longer. One of the things that makes boarding so special is its strong sense of community; because we make up a small part of the school, everyone truly knows everyone, from Year 7s to Year 13s, and that closeness brings us all together. The support I’ve received, both academically and personally, from friends and boarding tutors has been incredible. Boarding has also helped me develop independence and confidence, teaching me how to balance study, responsibility, and fun. Boarding isn’t just a place to live, it’s a family that supports, encourages, and grows together. It’s a truly close-knit community that welcomes anyone with open arms.
