Child Protection and Safeguarding

We take all aspects of safeguarding seriously at RGS and this is demonstrated in our Child Protection Policy and several other policies, which can also be found on our website. Safeguarding has a particular focus on Child Protection and on any young person who may be suffering significant harm or at risk of suffering significant harm.  This means we are alert to real or potential physical, emotional, sexual abuse and children who may be suffering neglect.  We are also aware of national and local concerns such as radicalisation, child sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation and peer on peer abuse.  Safeguarding also involves promoting the welfare of our students and covers such areas as anti-bullying strategies, behaviour management, health and safety, e-safety, inclusion and attendance.  If you have a concern about a student in our school for any reason you can contact one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (indicated above) above by phoning the school office on 01494 524955.  If your concern is urgent and is out of school hours you can contact a DSL on 01494 551405.  Students can also contact DSL staff confidentially through a Concerns Reporting portal on our VLE by clicking the button below.
