Academic Achievement & Phenomenal Outcomes

RGS is acclaimed for its academia. Our curriculum ensures breadth and depth, enabling boys to experience huge diversity and play to their strengths. Languages, the Humanities, Mathematics, the Sciences, the Creative and Performing Arts - plus numerous sports and activities - are all part of the School’s carefully considered academic programme.

More than twenty-five subjects are offered and examined at both GCSE and A Level, including eight languages, ancient and modern!

Such an enormous choice establishes the conditions in which every individual student can develop his talents to the full, and provides endless opportunities for him to excel.

You will see for yourself through the other metrics in this prospectus that our stellar outcomes at both GCSE and A Level have opened the gateway for our boys to return to our Sixth form and to progress to the most prestigious courses at the very best universities.

In 2019 -18 at GCSE, 89% of students completed the English Baccalaureate. Grades achieved at 7-9 were 71% (National figure was 40%). Progress 8 score was 0.68 (Top 4% of schools nationally). A Level, 72.9% of grades awarded were at A*-B.
