Sixth Form

A Message From The Head Boy

For someone seeking opportunities to enhance their learning, the RGS is the perfect place to be. Students are greeted with a friendly and welcoming work environment to support them in their transition to adulthood.

Sixth Formers are placed into a Form with other students who have similar subject interests. This allows them to develop and gain a deeper understanding of the subjects they would like to pursue in the future. At the RGS, students are also encouraged to enhance their understanding by carrying out wider reading and research in their respective fields.

Part of this development is the daily interaction with your Form Tutor, who will guide you through your time at the RGS, they will support you with your UCAS application, share any advice and deal with any queries you may have.

The RGS 360 Award encourages Sixth Formers to establish themselves into well-rounded young men through participation in the different elements of the Award. One of the categories is Leadership, which can be achieved in the summer term of Year 12 by applying for one of the many different prefect positions throughout the school.

With over 70 clubs and societies plus a wide range of sports teams at the RGS, extra-curricular activities are an important part of the RGS experience. I am sure that you will find something that will suit your passion. Many societies, like the Science Symposium, are student-led by members of the Sixth Form. This approach allows these students to develop their organisation and time management skills.

The RGS is an outstanding school which provides an incredible academic platform backed by countless extra-curricular opportunities to prepare you for whatever your future holds.
