RGS SCHOOL UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

We have a comprehensive selection of good quality preloved school uniform available on our second-hand uniform Facebook page (RGS High Wycombe 2nd hand uniform | Facebook). Items can be collected from the Resources department. The group is private so please do join to find out more.  

We have now modified our offering to ensure that it is in line with the Schools Bill that is due to come into action in September 2026. We thoroughly recommend naming all items. Branded items marked with an * below can be purchased from Hawkinsport.

Compulsory 

Uniform - Years 7-11

• Navy blue blazer with pocket badge*
• The appropriate House tie*
• School' grey or dark grey school trousers
• Plain white shirt (short or long sleeved)
• Black conventional shoes (not tan or brown shoes, trainers or boots)
• Plain grey or black socks

Uniform - Sixth Form

• A black, grey or dark suit comprising a matching jacket with either trousers, a sleeved dress, or a professional- length skirt
• A shirt and house tie, or a collared blouse
• A shirt and housetie, or a collared blouse
• A black, grey or dark blue V-neck pullover (optional)
• Scarves and headscarves should be plain fabric and in navy blue, black or grey
• Formal black or brown, low-heeled shoes
• Plain black, grey, or navy socks, or plain black, grey, navy or flesh-coloured tights

Sports Kit - Years 7-11

• A black, grey or dark suit comprising a matching jacket with either trousers, a sleeved dress, or a professional- length skirt
• A shirt and house tie, or a collared blouse
• RGS Sports shorts*
• RGS Games shirt*
• Navy blue rugby socks
• White ankle socks
• Training shoes with non-marking sole for indoor use
• Boots (NB boots should not be fitted with nylon studs - rubber or aluminium safety studs should be fitted which have the British Safety Standard kite mark on them)
• Outside training shoes for use on All Weather Pitch / grass in the summer
• Swimming shorts, preferably of a dark plain colour. Knee - length boardshorts are not permitted
• Student Mouthgaurd. Available from Opro (there is no obligation to purchase this dentist-level mouthguard and you may choose to purchase these items elsewhere. Please note that all student will require a mouthguard for their sports lessons.

Optional

Uniform 7-11

• RGS or plain navy blue jumper*
• Any outdoor coats must be of a plain, single colour
• Scarves should be plain or RGS design

Sports Kit - Years 7-11

• RGS PE T-Shirt*
• Cricket whites or RGS sports kit (as above). Students selected for school cricket teams will be expected to wear cricket whites. (Please do not buy cricket whites until the cricket season)
• RGS mid-layer*
• RGS tracksuit*
• Sports holdall*
• Swimming cap*
• Swimming goggles

Practical Lessons (optional - class sets are available)

• Safety goggles
• Blue art apron

Recommended other items for Year 7 

We stock all of these in the RGS school shop however, you do not need to purchase them through us.

• Pen (written work to be done in ink pen or a good quality brio)
• Pencil and sharpener
• A selection of colouring pencils and 2B, 4B, 6B Art Pencils
• Eraser
• Ruler (marked in cm and inches)
• Protractor /angle measure
• Compass
• Casio FX-85GTCW calculator (recommended by the Maths department)

Lost Property 

Students can visit Resources to enquire about any lost property from 8.30a.m. until the end of Form Time daily and at break and lunch.  Items are stored in Resources for one term, after which items are donated to our second-hand uniform shop or given to charity.
