Best of luck to our fencers!

This week they represent the school at The Public Schools’ Fencing Championships.

Best of luck to our 21 fencers who will be heading to Lee Valley Athletics Stadium this week to represent the school at The Public Schools’ Fencing Championships.

The Championships, first held in March 1890, is by far the largest fencing competition in the country and is arguably the largest youth fencing event in the whole of Europe.  The annual 3-day fencing event contains 18 individual competitions and 6 Master-at-Arms trophies, which are awarded for being the best across all three fencing disciplines (foil, epee and sabre).

RGS has a long and distinguished history within the sport of fencing, boasting an impressive Roll of Honour including GB representation and successes in multiple competitions, including the Commonwealth Games, European Championships and The Public Schools’ Fencing Championships.
