Jazz in the Quad - Not to be missed!

Jazz in the Quad will be a bittersweet moment for us when we say farewell to Francis Mullaly. Please join us!

Glastonbury certainly brought out the best in Elton John, who blasted into Pinball Wizard yesterday evening in front of one of the biggest crowds the Pyramid Stage had ever seen. “It’s emotional for me because it may be my last show ever,” said John (but it probably won’t be). Nonetheless he played it like it was, getting up every now and then from his piano to give us a full view of his gold lamé suit.

Watford's rock star super-fan Sir Elton John delivered Glastonbury gold. Watford Grammar will be welcoming our very talented Director of Music in September. Jazz in the Quad will be a bittersweet moment for us when we say farewell to Francis Mullaly after six years at RGS and to many of our Year 13 Leavers.

The line-up include: Trad Jazz, 1st Wind Band, Big Band, Swing Band, Close Harmony (and a mini Close Harmony of Junior students performing for the first time!), a Junior Orchestra (combining all 2nd Wind Band and Junior Strings players), and even some staff performers (perhaps even a few alumni) and more.

The afternoon will no doubt ensure a proper send-off!
