Year 10 - Chemistry
I study chemistry at the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe. Because it is one of the most interesting topics, chemistry is one of my favourite subjects. At RGSHW, you'll participate in a variety of experiments and practical sessions in Chemistry to show why particular reactions work and don't work, as well as detailed explanations for how they function. One of the things I like about it is that it's a straightforward subject. It's not too difficult, and any misunderstanding is immediately cleared up by RGSHW's excellent teachers. If you don't understand anything or are having trouble with a topic, teachers are ready to spend time with you, and there are highly qualified sixth formers who are experts in the field who can help you. Chemistry is an interesting subject because, when you listen to a teacher, they usually show you a practical or a video immediately so you can see the outcomes, and there are many patterns in Chemistry that make it easy to understand. The Chemistry Department offers interest groups as well as catch-up sessions to help you with your studies. They are really nice to speak with, so please do not hesitate to call them if you have any questions or issues. To summarise, chemistry is one of my favourite subjects since it is both interesting and useful outside of the classroom!
