Air pollution has a major impact on the lives of millions of people across the globe, affecting both the environment around them and their own personal health. Air pollution is a mix of particles and gases that can reach harmful concentrations both outside and indoors. There is a large range of devastating effects from air pollution, that include: disease, rising temperatures, soot, smoke, methane and various pollutants.

One of the biggest concerns with air pollution is its contribution to global warming. The fossil fuels being burnt to provide energy for cars, planes power plants, release carbon dioxide that traps heat in the Earth's atmosphere. This trapped heat is what is triggering global warming, since the warm air is unable to escape the atmosphere and the greenhouse effect propels the heat further.
