My aim in this investigation is to combine medieval and olde style artefacts with modern art. In practice, this means taking characters from Bruegel and other medieval artists and natural objects that capture the same aesthetic – the beekeepers, the soldiers, the eagle, the muntjac skull – and rendering them in a modern style, like that of my next artists Lynn Chadwick. Just as Chadwick uses ideas like the cow in “Short Horn” and the figure in “Cloaked Figure,” I will create modern looking, metallic models with medieval characters which will be placed and photographed in medieval churches - so they become more than just a sculpture but an installation.
