Throughout Sixth Form, we are dedicated to nurturing and supporting our students in a community that is both challenging and intellectually exciting. With a strong combination of outstanding teaching, exciting curriculum and many co-curricular activities, we set up our Sixth Formers to become part of the next generation of inspirational leaders.

Our students are self-confident, enthusiastic and positive. We are proud that they can move onto the next phase of their life knowing that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed.

An education at RGS involves more than just getting good grades. Our students’ experience of the Arts is a key part of their journey through the School and is woven through the curricular and co-curricular programmes. The standard of many of our artists, writers and musicians is high, and our Sixth Formers regularly gain entrance to prestigious conservatoires and art schools. Participation, though, is valued above all as a way of broadening horizons, discovering new interests and talents, and developing skills alongside students from across the full age-range.

As well as access to a tutor, subject mentors and of course the staff team, you'll also have the support from your peers. In fact, over the past decade, our boarders have consistently outperformed our day students in academic results, with recent leavers achieving up to 90% at A*-B at A-Level. 

Boarding at RGS allows our boys to benefit from extra time studying, which would otherwise be spent travelling to and from school, as well as the opportunity to participate in the wide range of activities available in and out of traditional school hours. The ability to socialise, enjoy in-built free time and have access to continuous academic and pastoral support is core to the success of our boarding students.

Our highest priority has, and will always be, the welfare of our students and as such, we strongly believe that boarding should not be a separation from family but instead an extension of family. Throughout their time at RGS, our boarding students will benefit from being at the core of a working partnership between their parents and our staff, designed to both nurture and promote success.

We strive to promote a feeling of family community throughout Fraser Youens and we actively encourage many of our boarders help lead this community within both the house and school.
