New Boarders Handbook 2021

30/31 7) Concerns& Complaints We understand that children living away from home may have worries or complaints that they need to discuss with others in order to receive help or advice. There are plenty of people at School to assist you and many lines of communication to the outside world if you feel that the people in School cannot help you. The following information has been put together to ensure that you are aware of all the help available and to advise you on your rights emphasised by the law. Do not be afraid to complain. It is your right to be treated properly and it is your right to complain if you think you are not being treated fairly. Do not hesitate to ask if you simply want someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on. Things that might make you unhappy or upset: • You feel you have been treated unfairly by a member of staff in School or in the boarding house • You feel that a punishment is unjust or in some way not right • A senior boy has treated you unkindly • You are being bullied • You find it difficult to make friends
