Wycombe Management Conference: 5th - 6th March
120 Year 12 students took part in this year's Wycombe Management Conference. This was in conjunction with Wycombe Abbey and was organised by staff from both schools.

Developing a team strategy
Hosted by Wycombe Abbey School, the conference was designed to provide delegates with the opportunity to further their understanding of the roles and importance of manufacturing and commerce in the future of the United Kingdom's economy. It also demonstrated the challenges and stimulation offered by a career in management.

- Sarah Pooley, Deputy Director of the College of Law
- Mark Phillips, Vice President GlaxoSmithKline
- Carla Stent, Chief Finance Officer, Barclays
- Charlie Bott, Chairman of EFSG, Goldmann Sachs
- Steve Bourne, Commercial Manager, Ortho Biothek
Voicing opinionsThe one and a half days of the conference were intense and demanding. The participants were placed in situations where their skill at developing ideas quickly and on the basis of minimal information was tested. Time management was critical. Throughout the conference, the emphasis was on working both individually and as a team. Mentors from the business world facilitated each team and we are immensely grateful to all of them for giving up their time.
