Who are we?
The astronomy club consists of boys from many different years with interests in Astronomy, taken by Mr.Glendining.

What do we do?
In a typical astronomy club meeting, a subject raised by one of the members is discussed (for example, manned space missions).
If it is predicted to be a clear night, the Astronomy club will convene in the evening at school, and use the club’s telescopes for observations of the sky.
The IT facility in the science block is also used, to help research a certain aspect that may be observed during the evening.

Where and when do we meet?
The Astronomy club meets in P4 in the science block after school, from 3:40pm to 4:30pm. If there is an observation session planned, this will occur later on in the evening, depending on the season.

What are our aims?
The astronomy club this year aims to have an observation session in the evening, using a recently-purchased electronic stand for the telescopes, which will allow easier observation of some features of the sky. Using a new solar telescope, we also aim to observe the sun during the day.
We also aim to cover a wide area of Astronomy during our after-school sessions, such as the history of Astronomy, and learn from these meetings.
