Public Speaking
Last Thursday, two teams of students from the Lower School participated in the `Youth Speaks' Public Speaking Competition.
The Junior A team was confidently chaired by Dan Livadas. Jake Taylor delivered a flawless six-minute speech on subject of "A Matter of Fat", and then Dan Maunder reflected on Jake's ideas and proposed an excellent vote of thanks.
The junior team was brilliantly chaired by Callum French. Ed Hitchen delivered a superb six minute speech without any notes on the topic of "A Passion for Fashion". This was then followed by some excellent reflections and further thoughts by George Barton.
Out of all the various local teams competing, the B team were second and the A team finished first. This clean sweep sees the year 9 team progress to the Zone final in Marlow next week.
The Senior A team was commandingly chaired by Andrew Quigley. David Maunder delivered a flawless six-minute speech entitled "Youth Speak on Youth Speak", and then Chris Finn ably reflected on David's ideas and proposed an excellent vote of thanks.
The Senior B team was charismatically chaired by Eamon Barrett. Alistair Cooper delivered a crowd-pleasing speech on the subject of "The Fame Game". This was then followed by the thoughtful and eloquent reflections of their Vote of Thanks, Ram Kumar.
Out of all the various local teams competing, the B team placed second and the A team finished first. This clean sweep sees the Year 13 team progress to the Zone final in Marlow next week.
