Chaplain's Suppers

This school year we as sixth formers have enjoyed the opportunity to attend Chaplain’s Suppers on a regular basis. They are hosted by Mr and Mrs Toller (very generously in their house) along with Mr Potter. Always commencing with a fulfilling take-away meal fit for hundreds of people, swiftly followed by a delicious desert, nobody leaves unsatisfied.

After the meal, there is sometimes a short game before a guest speaker is introduced for his talk. It shocks people to hear that I attend these meetings without fail, being an atheist myself. However ever since I went for the first time last year, I have felt very welcome into a great atmosphere with a wonderful bunch of people. Did I mention the food was fantastic?

I look forward to my continuing debate with Mr Potter (and everyone else) over the existence of God and flaws in the Bible, and the amusing jokes about Matt Nally (we love him really). Overall, the suppers provide a great opportunity to express opinions on some challenging topics and have an intellectual discussion over a fantastic meal with a great group of people. I highly recommend the Chaplain’s Suppers to anyone, Christian or not.
