Modern Languages
The Language BlockOpened in November 1998 by the Duchess of Gloucester, the Language Block comprises 13 classrooms, including 3 seminar rooms and a computer suite.
The RGS Modern Languages Department has a strong academic tradition, and gains excellent GCSE and 'A' Level results.
COURSES
All pupils study French to GCSE at the end of Year Eleven. In Years 8 and 9 they will study a second language. They may continue the Latin that they started in Year 7 or take up German of Spanish. Classical Studies is also an option. At the end of Year 9 pupils decide their options; French is compulsory but many will decide to continue with their German or Spanish to GCSE.
