Gill Markham: Trips and Expeditions Governor and Trustee GovernorI have been associated with the RGS for some 6 years, being a founder member of the "Educational Excellence" fundraising campaign before becoming a Governor.  I have extensive experience in Public Affairs and Public Relations having worked in the healthcare and pharmaceutical field for most of my career.  I am a trained teacher and youth worker which allows me to bring an understanding of education, business and communications to my role as Sponsor Governor.  My son Dominic is in Year 13 at the RGS and is a Prefect.  In my role as a Governor I am a member of the Personnel and Finance Committes.  I also hold specific responsibility for approving all overnight educational visits and trips undertaken by the students at RGS.  I was part of the Headmaster selection committee in 2005. I offer mangement and media advice on an ad-hoc basis and have spoken to the media on occasions when an independent voice was required.  I have undertaken the Governor Self-Evaluation process on behalf of the Main Board, which is a requirement of OfSTED.
