Introduction to Key Stage 5
Design & Technology at Key Stage 5 ‘AS’ and ‘A2’ Level.
The department also offers an ‘AS’ - ‘A’ Level course which is the AQA Design and Technology Resistant Materials Product Design Course.
This course, is viewed as being ideal for students wishing to take engineering or design based courses at University. Students will cover in-depth research of materials and manufacturing processes. They will also be required to design and make a project in both years of the course, the project should be one that allows the student to show their full design and technology capability. 
These projects are designed and manufactured from first principles and students are required to explore and understand the interrelation and interaction required to enable a product to be successfully produced. This process should lead to students becoming independent designers in their own right.
