BOARDERS’ ACTIVITIES

After school there is a wide range of activities organised for Junior boys (like Drama, Soccer, Archery, Badminton, Cooking, Cricket, Touch Rugby, Swimming etc.) and all boys are expected to participate fully.

The senior boys have use of the sports hall from 6.00 – 7.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday for supervised activities.

STUDY TIME

There is a study period from 7.30-9.00 pm each weekday, set aside for individual study and homework.

STUDY GROUPS

To help with their academic progress each boarder will be placed in an appropriate study group.

GROUP A is for sixth form boys who have shown the ability to work independently and are making impressive progress. Their work will be monitored by their Tutor.

GROUP B is for boys who are progressing well but who benefit from a set study time after supper each evening (7.30 – 9.00 p.m.). Their work is checked regularly by their Tutor.

GROUP C is for boys who need the help of a supervised study session after supper each evening (7.30 – 9.00 p.m.) Their work will be checked each evening by the duty Housemaster.

WEEKENDS, END OF TERM AND HALF TERM HOLIDAYS

For weekly boarders the boarding house will close at 1.00 p.m. on Saturday and reopen on Sunday at 7.00 p.m.

At holiday times boarders will be expected to return to the boarding house on the evening before the start of each half term and leave the boarding house by 7.00 p.m. on the last day of each half term.

Boarders who are returning from overseas may have to make arrangements to be met by a relation/guardian until the appropriate time comes to return to the boarding house.

Any other arrangements must be authorised in advance by the Head of Boarding.

LEAVING THE PREMISES

Boarders are expected to stay on site during the week unless special arrangements have been made with the member of staff on duty.
