Tim Dingle

Mr Tim Dingle, BSc, MBA

Tim Dingle joined the Royal Grammar School in April 1999 from Mill Hill School where he had been Deputy Headmaster. The start of his tenure as Headmaster coincided with the school returning from Grant Maintained  status to Foundation status.

Mr Dingle oversaw the opening of Fraser-Youens Boarding House, the culmination of two years’ planning and building. During the seven years of his Headship, a new Music Centre was completed, School House was renovated for administration and staff use, all-weather cricket nets, tennis courts and a hockey skills area were completed, the swimming pool was covered, the Space under the Queen’s Hall was enclosed and a new fitness suite was established in the Old Gym.

Mr Dingle had a real passion for rugby and he was an assiduous supporter of school teams. His commitment went beyond school teams and he was an England Schoolboys’ Selector, latterly Chairman for the England U16 sides.

Mr Tim Dingle also oversaw a fundraising campaign, Educational Excellence, involving parents, Old Wycombiensians and friends of the school.   Their combined efforts raised over £1m that provided the funds for the badly needed refurbishment and extension of music facilities.
