Senior Prize Giving
The school was delighted to welcome Paul Goodman, MP. as our Guest of Honour this year.
Paul Goodman, MP Paul Goodman was elected as a Member of Parliament for Wycombe in 2001 and is presently Shadow Minister for Communities and Local Government. He was educated at Cranleigh School in Surrey and graduated from the University of York with a degree in English Literature.
Before becoming an MP, Mr Goodman had a career in journalism, writing for the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph.
Paul Goodman has always shown a keen interest in the RGS and we are delighted to welcome him to the RGS to present the prizes today.
In his address Paul Goodman spoke of the need to understand and engage with the Muslim community. Amongst his constituents in Wycombe he was proud to represent some
Paul Goodman9000 Muslims - ten percent of the local population.
The Headmaster in his address referred to notable school events from the year and paid tribute to the colleagues who were leaving.
Ian Wilson for 36 years' service, Peter Cowburn for 28 and Martin Smith for his 26 years at the school gained a special mention.
