Year 9 Boys in Charity Run
We are very pleased to learn from a parent that:
"On Sunday 8th June, five year 9 boys undertook a 13 mile run from High Wycombe train station to Gerrards Cross train station.
"The boys were Sam Wagge, Samson Wendes, Will Davis, Joe Pinion and Euan Bryden, and they organised the whole event – from planning the route through to raising sponsorship for their efforts.
"The run was in memory of their friend Tom Burton, and to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
"They did really well on a very hot day, completing the run in just over two hours (including water stops), and raised in the region of £600. It is heartening to see teenagers not just having a grand idea, but persevering through the execution of it, and they are all, as they should be, proud of the achievement. The photographs show the boys at the finishing point (where they spent the next ½ hour racing trains in and out of the station!)"
This is a great achievement and we congratulate the boys both on their initiative and their hard work. Well done!
