On Wednesday 26th May, thirty boys from Year 9 who are considering future careers in science, maths and technology, took part in a very busy, exciting day of lectures and practical workshops at Brunel University.
The boys participated in a range of workshops in which they programmed robots, some had the chance to operate a flight simulator and others got a taste of motor sport design. The boys got an insight into how MI6 are able to break spy codes and were able to break a code themselves as part of a team activity. The highlight of the day involved seeing how a ‘green screen’ digital film studio works as they saw the very studio in which the special effects for movies such as GI Joe and the new Star Trek were filmed.
The boys even got a brief insight into life as a student living on campus as they toured the various student accommodation and facilities such as gymnasiums.
