Wednesday 11 July 2012 - Duncan Moore Memorial Cricket Match
We were actually fortunate to have several hours of sunshine in this terrible summer although we saw several very threatening clouds pass on either side of the ground.
Regrettably play had to be eventually terminated when a heavy shower arrived at about 6.30pm.
It was decided to play a 30 overs-a-side match.
RGS Old Boys won the toss and batted making 188 for 4 wkts (30 overs)
Captain Bob Dix led the way and was out in the last over for an excellent 94 with 7 sixes and 2 fours.
He was well supported by Sajid Zaib with 56 and Ed Furniss 20.
Freddie Owen took 2 for 25.
In reply RGS 1st team made 80 for 5 (18.3 overs) when rain put an end to play.
Charlie Etheridge made 35 not out and Mark Hughes D'aeth 29
Chris Johnson had figures of 6 overs, 3 maidens, 2 wickets for 16.
The abandoned game was awarded to RGS Old Boys.
Special thanks to Steve Noyes who umpired and scored for the whole match.
Best wishes to all,
