The Ratsgymnasium, our partner school for the last 43 years, has been recognised as the best school in the Germany in a nationwide survey of pupils.
The national student magazine UNICUM ABI conducted its annual survey to find the "School of the Year". Pupils could vote on various aspects of their school experience: How do you rate the learning environment, the quality of teaching? What extra-curricular activities and clubs are active in the school? How focussed is the school on the future? How involved is it in wider social issues in the local community and abroad ?
With an overall grade of 1.7 (a scale of 1-6 ranks all school work and exams in Germany) the school was rated the best in the country.
The prize is an open-air concert by Johannes Strate, an up-and-coming pop star in Germany, who will perform his new album on 07/19/2012 at 17:00 clock in the school quad.
Headmaster Lothar Wehleit commented : "I am immensely proud of our pupils - that they have demonstrated publically so much confidence and appreciation for their school, and that they believe that we are preparing them well for their professional future."
