LEAVERS' DAY

CLOSE

Friday, 18 May 2012

They joined RGS in September 2004 and June 18th 2012 was their official last day.  Head of Year, Mr Noyes, started the day by recalling those early years and embarrassed a few by reading their early, enthusiastic forays into poetry in the Wycombiensian from that period.

Then the activities got underway - the form groups rotated through ten events - bungee running, gladiatorial combat, the bucking bronco, an assault course, sumo wrestling and more.

After the prizes a bar-b-q and an ice cream from the van rounded off the morning.  It was a fine, positive end to their seven years at RGS - tinged with sadness at the untimely loss of Tom Burton in Year 8, secretary Judy de Gelas and Head of Maths J.P.Stevens, 3 RGS members whom we remembered with a long round of applause.

We have been assured that the Risk Assessment for the day did cover the eventuality that Miss Munday would insist on performing her celebrated bouncy castle routine

Well done to Mr Noyes and Mrs Tan for masterminding the planning of the event and the many teachers who lent a hand in the running of the day and the canteen staff who provided the food perfectly to schedule - and to the Year 13's for their fancy dress efforts and appreciative participation.
