Congratulations to Year 10 student Tom Roberts, who was recently invited to visit Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament as a winner of the national Parliamentary Press Gallery Writing competition.
Entrants in Tom's age group were asked to imagine that they were bidding to be elected mayor and to write a personal campaign statement expressing their vision for the future of their town.
As well as getting to meet the Deputy Prime Minister and attending a reception hosted by The Speaker of the House of Commons, Tom was presented with a special cup as overall winner in his age category.
