BRITISH PHYSICS OLYMPIAD

 I have pleasure in announcing the following pleasing results in the national AS Physics Challenge.

 
  • Gold Award:         Max Sharpington
  • Silver Award:        Dan Booker and Danny Vick
  • Bronze Award:      Patrick Obijuru, Matthew Saunders, Michael Harris, Jack Maynard, Adam Raymond-White Sam Carter, Matt Lettis, Dom Browne and George Barton.
Max Sharpington’s script will be forwarded to the Olympiad office for consideration for a book prize.

The questions set in the challenge are based on the AS syllabus, but require considerable problem solving ability and lateral thinking; as well as needing a student to apply their knowledge in unfamiliar situations.  They also require a student to reason using mathematics based on a practical situation.  As such they are no push-over.  Accordingly, the students who took part have done very well, and may be delighted with their results.
