On the weekend of the 24th and 25th September the CCF ran another successful Initial Recruits Camp (IRC) for its new intake.
This year we moved training areas from Longmoor to Bramley, with the use of a huge vehicle maintenance building in addition to the surrounding woodland and fields. The new recruits, supplemented by a Duke of Edinburgh party, had lessons in weapon handling, first aid, basic fieldcraft, camp craft and survival taught by a mixture of staff and the senior NCOs.
In total 152 RGS boys attended the camp, which proved an interesting logistical challenge for the new School Staff Instructor Mr Pasha, but one that was surmounted to ensure the programme ran smoothly.
