CLOSE

Tuesday, 27 Sep 2011

The History Department are delighted to announce the winners of the Sixth Form History Essay Competition. The standard this year was very high and choosing the winners very difficult. The results are as follows:

  • In first place, Andrew Simmonds, writing on ‘To what extent was the German Democratic Republic a serious attempt to create a separate, independent and long lasting socialist German state?’
  • In second place, Joshua Williams and his essay ‘To what extent did Margaret Thatcher benefit the UK economy during her period as Prime Minister?’
  • And in third place, Joe Whelan, writing a critical analysis of the Borgia Papacy of Alexander VI.

Well Done!
