On the morning of the 6th June 1991 and after days of security sweeps and protocol-rehearsals we were ready.

Princess Diana paid a visit to the school to formally open our conversion of the old school hall to its new library status.

She toured the school, talking with and enchanting pupils and staff with her famous 'common-touch'.
A plaque in the library commemorates the visit. For Rowland Brown it was one of the highlights of his distinguished period as Headmaster and almost rivalled Headmaster Tucker's hosting of the Queen, when she opened our Queen's Hall in 1962.
