Many congratulations to our medal winners in this year’s British Physics Olympiad competition:
Gold Medal: (top 50): Ed Higson
Silver Medal: Ben Gill, George Seeger
Bronze (Class I): Marco Chiu, Benson Lai
Bronze (Class II): Tim Jackson
This is a good, solid set of results, and all students can be pleased with their achievement in a tough, nationally recognized, competition.
As a result of his good score in the paper, Ed was invited to sit a further exam, which he scored well in too. This means that he has reached the top 15, and will accordingly be taking part in the national team training and selection event at the University of Oxford from 4-7 April. If he is placed in the top 5 he will go on to represent Great Britain in the International Physics Olympiad, which this year is in Bangkok, Thailand. Our last international Olympian physicist was Claude Warnick who won a Silver Medal at the XXXII Olympiad in Turkey in 2001.
Congratulations!
