Over the past two weeks the RGS has been marking National Anti-Bullying Fortnight with a variety of events and activities focused on confronting this important issue.
As part of the activities to raise the profile for National Anti-Bullying, boys have been looking at the subject in their PSHE lessons, as well as in Form periods.
Senior Prefects have presented a series of excellent assemblies related to the theme of anti-bullying. They have spoken on cyber bullying, anti racism, challenging stereotypes, homophobia, challenging norms and independent thinking. Our final assembly of the series has been on Barnardo’s and the difference this organisation makes to the lives of young people.
The Senior Prefects have chosen Barnardo’s this year as the charity they would like to support at the end of National Anti-Bullying Fortnight. To raise money for this charity, we are having a Mufti Day on Friday, 25 November when the boys can come to school in their own casual clothing, ideally wearing an item of green as this is the colour associated with the nominated charity for the day. Boys who wish to come to school in mufti on 25 November will be asked to contribute £1 towards Barnardo’s.
