Saturday, 05 Feb 2011

Schools from all over the country were  invited to take part in a competition for budding art historians. The ARTiculate competition, run by the University of Cambridge in partnership with the Roche Court Education Trust, is an  opportunity for students to share their enthusiasm for works of art and improve their presentation skills.

The RGS was proud to be represented in this auspicious competition on Tuesday 1st February 2011 in the ARTiculation Prize Oxfordshire Heats -held at the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology.

Doug Stevens spoke for 10 minutes on 'Peter Randall-Page and the Kingshill Grange Commission, High Wycombe'. Although Doug did not win the regional final Lucy Salisbury Head of Outreach of The Roche Court Educational Trust said that "His talk was excellent and it certainly had all of us who work with contemporary art very supportive. He was a very engaging speaker and the personal involvement in the work was most original and interesting." Doug was supported by Josh Wright and Josh Williams and by Mr Simon Taylor.

The RGS team has been invited to attend the final at Clare College, University of Cambridge on Saturday 12th March.
