RGS IN NATIONAL LAW PROJECT

CLOSE

Monday, 15 Nov 2010

A local law firm, Reynolds Parry Jones Solicitors of Easton Street in High Wycombe has nominated the RGS for the  Schools Law Web.  This is a national initiative which introduces pupils to the legal system and those who work within it.

Deborah Yeates of Reynolds Parry Jones confirmed the firm is happy to lend its support because the project not only helps pupils understand the vital role law plays in our society but also reminds young people that laws bring responsibilities as well as rights.

The scheme helps busy teachers by supplying weekly classroom materials. These are ready-to-go and use current news stories to introduce pupils to important matters of law along with many other aspects of citizenship.

The Director of the Schools Law Web, Patrick Gaffney, thanked Deborah and her colleagues saying, "We can only make a difference in schools if we gain the support of the wider community.  I am extremely grateful to Reynolds Parry Jones for coming on board."

Speaking on behalf of the Royal Grammar School, the Head of Careers, Dr Janet Philpott said, "We were delighted to learn that Reynolds Parry Jones have kindly nominated our school for the Schools Law Web. We are extremely grateful. The project materials have already been used with classes and we have found them to be both interesting and enjoyable for the youngsters.  They will be a great help in the year ahead."

Further information on the Schools Law Web is available on their website.
