PROUD OF MY ROOTS

CLOSE

Friday, 08 Oct 2010

This week at the RGS has seen boys and staff celebrating their roots.  The event, enthusiastically organised by Miss Sowah, highlighted the diversity of our school community and gave boys and staff an opportunity to share information about their background and culture.

There were assemblies on the topic, and on Wednesday we had a “mufti day”. Boys and staff paid a pound to wear their own clothes, with many choosing to wear something reflecting their background. Wednesday also saw the Proud of my Roots fair in the Space, with stalls offering information, food and demonstrations.  At lunchtime a variety of international films were shown around the school

With thanks to Miss Sowah for all her energy in organising an event which provoked much interest and discussion.
