The RGSPA Needs You!
How can I help?
RGS has a fine academic and sporting reputation, competing on equal terms with many of the leading public and state schools in the UK. In order to give our boys the best possible opportunities during the short period of time they are at the school, the RGS Parents' Association run a series of events and parties to raise much needed funds. This is where you come in.
Maintaining first-class standards
In the last 10 years the PA has raised over £220,000, making a vital contribution to the life and reputation of the school. We currently have an annual commitment of £8,000 for the Queen’s Hall glazing project and £10,000 annually for the lease of the minibuses. You can help by getting your name down early for the various PA events and parties, buying tickets and coming along to enjoy the fun.
What can I bring to the party?
If you’d like to do more, the PA is always in need of volunteers who can spare a little time to help run an event. You don’t have to be a great organiser – help with setting up and clearing after an event is always welcome, as is assistance in the kitchen. The PA keeps a database of those parents who are happy to be contacted with requests for help at various points throughout the year. This is usually done by email, so there is no pressure if you are busy and all contact details are kept strictly confidential. If you’d like to help in this ad hoc fashion please use the form to join our list of volunteers.
Occasionally, specific jobs come up that we need help with. Take a look below and see if you can help.
Are you…
A first class communicator? Good with figures? An ace in the kitchen? A great organiser? Full of fundraising ideas? Not afraid of committee meetings?
Of course if you’d like to get really involved, then the best way is to join the PA Committee. If you have any particular skills you feel would be of benefit to the association we would love to hear from you. Similarly if there’s no one particular thing you want to do, but you can spare the time and effort it takes to make a difference, please contact us. We’ll then invite you to come along to a meeting and you can see how it goes.
If you’d like to help RGS maintain its excellent facilities please consider joining the PA and helping us to raise funds. Whatever you feel you can do, please do. Your efforts will directly help not only your son but the school itself. As an added bonus, it is a great way to meet other parents and have fun.
Your support in the coming year is greatly appreciated by the PA, the staff and most importantly the boys of RGS.

Marketing Manager - Spring 2011
The PA is in need of a marketing person who can help us with our flyers etc for some of our events.
The person can be a parent or boy who has a creative flair, the job has no renumeration, however it would look good on a CV!
The applicant need not come to all the PA meetings however they may wish to get a feel of the things we do etc.

Committee Members Required
Can you believe that RGS has over 2,000 parents, yet there are only 18 on the PA? We are currently able to give to the school some £20,000 a year - imagine how much we could raise if we had twice as many people!
