Help us spend £20,000
If someone told you that they were about to spend £20,000 on your son and his friends you’d probably be interested, which is why we want to tell you about the RGS Parents’ Assocation.
The organisation is open to all parents, new and old, and members of staff. We run a series of fun events throughout the year with the aim of raising money to supplement the equipment and facilities available to our boys at RGS.
To quote a recent Ofsted report:
"It is almost impossible to do justice to the school’s extra curricular activities."
This is thanks in no small part to the extras available as a result of ticket sales for events like the hugely popular Disco run for the boys (and the young ladies from both Becky and Wycombe High) several times a year.
There’s also:
- An Annual Autumn Ball
- A Family Quiz Night (great fun for boffins and trivia-heads alike)
- A Christmas Party
...and various other opportunities to make friends and enjoy the company of like-minded people whilst helping the school in its mission to remain one of the best educational establishments in the country.
Who's on the PA
How the PA is organised
The PA is run along professional lines, with a strong focus on ethical accounting, accurate minutes and recognition for good work. The association is made up by those parents who have subscribed.
However, the main organization is done, as you would expect, by a committee. There are the usual suspects (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer) but many more members who simply help out or organize a specific event.
The committee is always looking for new ideas, and if you would like to help, or have a say in how the money raised is spent please contact us.
In last 10 years the PA has raised over £220,000, making a vital contribution to the life and reputation of the school. We currently have an annual commitment of £8,000 for the Queen’s Hall glazing project and £10,000 annually for the lease of the minibuses. Attending the PA events is an easy and fun way to raise money. Your support in the coming year is greatly appreciated by the PA, the staff and most importantly the boys of RGS.
