All RGS hockey players are strongly advised to join a club, such as HWHC or GX as part of their continued development. The school and these clubs have had links for many years and many boys are currently playing in a wide variety of the clubs senior and junior teams.
The quality of coaching at both HWHC and GX is of a high standard and they put much time and effort into their junior section. David Stone (former RGS Teacher) is the HWHC players manager. Former Olympian John Shaw coaches at GX.
