The Library opened in June 1991 and is integral to the work of the school across the full range of subjects, activities and ages. 

The Library opens at 8.00 a.m. every school day, and closes at 4.45 p.m., apart from Friday when it closes at 4.00 p.m.  All pupils are encouraged to use the library at break, lunchtime, before and after school.  The Library is used for quiet study by the Sixth Form during lesson time, as well as for research lessons.

It has an excellent range of non-fiction books to support the curriculum, as well as an extensive fiction collection.   The Library also has a range of periodicals, newspapers and audio-visual material.
 

There are nine computers linked to the school intranet, which the boys can use to carry out research and course work and to print their work. 

Resources

The Library has 13,500 resources.  There are currently 2,500 fiction books in the Library and  9,000 non-fiction resources, as well as a range of audio-visual items. 

The Library catalogue, Oliver OPAC, is accessible from any computer IN SCHOOL by typing http://dbsrv:8080/oliver/libraryHome.do  in Internet Explorer.  You can search for resources by author , title, subject and keyword.
