As members of the School Chaplaincy, we endeavour to take a leading role in the spiritual and moral development of the pupils. The Chaplaincy exists to teach the Christian Faith to boys of all ages.

Mr Pantridge, the School Chaplain, is assisted by Mr Booth and several other members of staff. We are available to any members of the school community who wish to speak to us – either as individuals or as groups. We organise a number of activities for the students at RGS.

Year 7 Heatseeker Meetings

The Heatseeker event has been specifically designed by the Chaplaincy for new Year 7 pupils. It is always received with much interest and excitement amongst the boys, with the quota of forty tickets always being sold out. Heatseeker is held on Monday lunchtimes every two or three weeks and involves a variety of different activities and games. Traditional Bond music, DVD clips, competitions and refreshments all form part of the package, with the pupils often actively participating in the dramatisation of parables and stories in the Bible. Hopefully their interest in the Bible, motivated by the Heatseeker meetings, will continue to grow as the Year 7 pupils enjoy their future years at the RGS.

Sixth Form Oxford Dinners

Many members of the Sixth Form enjoy the privilege of dining in style at the Chaplain's Oxford dinners. Pembroke College, Oxford hosts thirty five RGS students six times a year in their private function room called the ‘Forte Room’. We invite an after dinner guest speaker to deliver an engaging explanation of the Christian Faith.

Friends of RGS Chaplaincy

We retain good links with a large number of old boys and are very pleased to be supported by a group of parents who meet regularly to pray for the school. If you would like to contact me for whatever reason, then please send an e-mail to
