Anyone who saw Les Mis in March 2013 will have seen what a talented bunch of actors we have at the RGS.

The groundwork begins with a vengeance in Year 7. The emphasis is on building group cohesion and developing individual confidence in both a safe and challenging environment. Building on these positive foundations the boys are encouraged to hone acting skills in activities ranging from physical comedy and ‘Whose line is it anyway?’ improvisation, to TV acting and gory Greek tragedy.

The Drama studio is a large, exciting space and getting better! Blackout curtains, stage lighting and a music system help to create a vibrant working environment where students’ imaginations can fly. Boys also get a chance to flex their ‘techie’ muscles with some basic light and sound opportunities.

The RGS has a history of staging innovative, original productions ranging from Shakespeare to lavish Musicals.

Drama and Music generally join forces and we often call upon Wycombe High School for the female talent! Add to this theatre trips; workshops with professional companies and extra curricular clubs, it is clear to see that drama at the RGS is far more than just a subject.

The productions are among the highlights of the yearParent Comment
