RGS Benevolent Fund

Thank you from the RGS Benevolent Fund

This year, over £14,000 has been raised by staff, boys and parents alike for charity. In the Autumn Term we shared over £2000 among 11 selected charities including Make a Difference, Children in Need, Halo Trust, Movember and Oxfam.

The Benevolent Fund was established in December 1958 after the school raised over £20, which was divided between Dr Barnardo’s Homes and the Mayor’s Fund. As a result of this effort it was decided to start a regular Benevolent Fund with voluntary weekly collections. As was then, the prefects are responsible for the collection from each form. This year, prefects Jacob Pompe and Sanjeer Devarajan have the honour.

The Benevolent Fund is our promise as a school community that we will always come together in support of those looking to make a difference in society. We hope that our fundraising goes a little way towards achieving those aims.

Over £140,000 has been raised for charity since 2001
